LIFE!

Hello everyone! Miss me?  Well, even if you didn't I did.  There is only one word to sum up my absence. Life.  We all deal with it and we all know how it can rear its ugly head and swallow us.  Well, after being chewed, mangled, and swallowed I do believe I've finally made it to where I can at least do a blog post!

The last six weeks has included, a baptism, birthdays, a trip to Chicago, an impromptu move including less than two weeks to pack my house, end of the school year programs/field trips, unpacking, a trip to Moab, illness,  and possibly a camp out this weekend.  Did I cover everything? Oh! and my four-year-old had surgery on her stomach, after which she then gave herself a haircut (more like a mullet).   I think that covers the gist of it.

Now, I don't want you to think I'm implying my life is more difficult than others, because I'm not, and it isn't.  I'm just stating the facts of what my life's schedule has included and why writing was suddenly pushed to 'extremely low' on the priority list.

On to the writing update...I have one more edit to do (I think) and I just wrote my query letter for submission. With all that done, I am frighteningly close to an actual submission.  I never knew what 'cold feet' felt like. I never experienced it when I got married.  But now I officially have cold feet.  I keep fretting over scenes or sentences in my book that I'm not overly thrilled with, or I think maybe could be better, but when I try to fix or change it, I just come up with the same thing.  In other words, I do believe I'm over-analyzing everything.  Oh well,  I'm meeting with some fellow writers tonight to hopefully critique my query letter, and get more editing done!

So, if you think you can forgive me for going AWOL I promise I will do my best to never do so again, or at least write a one sentence post stating..."Busy, be back soon" :0)
