These Is My Words by Nancy E. Turner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Sarah Prine is a young woman battling for survival in the wild western territories of New Mexico, Arizona, and into Texas. This book is her journal and takes the reader on a heartbreaking journey through wagon trains, Indians, loss, courage, and determination. I was instantly drawn into the Sarah's recount of things, and found the book difficult to put down and thoroughly engaging. I thought it was wonderfully written and candidly told of the dangers, as well as the trials of settling the west. Definitely one I would like to own.

ReplyDeleteI didn't know you two had read this. I really enjoyed it as well. It was one I was going to recommend for the book club. I'm looking forward to reading "The Help." I am enjoying your new blog!
