In hiding

So, I'm currently hiding out in my basement while my kids are supposed to be doing their chores. (yeah right) We went camping over the weekend so my house now looks like it threw up dirty, smoke smelling clothing and bedding. (uh oh, I think I forgot to close the basement door, that'll be a dead give away) Anyways, back to my smoke stack house....so not only am I hiding from the kids so I can hopefully finish writing the Value Walk for Young Women's camp, but I'm also hiding from the laundry. Out of sight out of mind right?  It's moments like these, the t.v. becomes quite the devils advocate tempting me with it's big clear screen, and child-brainwashing-mesmorizing qualities.  I mean, the laundry doesn't bother me in the basement, but the kids have legs (thankfully and unfortunate at the same time).  But for the meantime I'll refrain from pushing that attractive button on the remote, and be a decent parent today. (Although, I would be totally justified since we did go camping after all and they had no t.v. while there, and plenty of fresh air, excercise, and family time) OK now I'm just trying to justify so I had better end that line of thinking right now! Well, guess I'd better get back to work!

  1. I've been hiding from my laundry too! Sadly...I think it's following me since it's in EVERY room of the house! Forcing them outside to play (mine are out there playing "camping" right now) is always a good alternative to the TV :o) Good luck in your quest to hide :o)!

  4. But the camping was so worth it wasn't it? We sure enjoyed being with you guys. I have to admit, after reading the first part of the "walk" I'm very excited to read the rest of it. You really are SO talented!!!

  5. I love that the basement is your hide out. You own the house and you are hiding from the smallest people. It's all so ironic and humorous. I hope you have a nice set up down in your basement for your hide out.
